Crittall Windows have always been, and remain, head of their time in the manufacture of windows. Crittall Windows use the very latest, state-of-the-art technology and manufacturing processes to become leaders in the windows market place. This is the Crittall Experience...
Crittall is the oldest supplier of steel windows in the world and had been in operation for over 160 years. The company was established in 1849 by Francis Berrington Crittall in Essex. The Crittall family was directly connected with the firm until 1974.
Crittall gained prestigious contracts early on including the supply of metal windows to the Houses of Parliament and the Public Record Office in 1880. Crittall Windows then expanded to various countries throughout Europe and across the World.
Crittall opened its first galvanising plant in Essex in 1939, and in 1964 Crittall developed a wethertightness testing process for windows resulting in the creation of a new British Standard. In 1977 the very first polyester powder coated windows were developed. Crittall Windows celebrated, just one year later, the production of its 50 millionth steel window.
